我覺得我這個題目有點離題...shit..

30. The primary goal of technological advancement should be to increase people's
efficeiency so that everyone has more leisure time.

During last century, with rapid development of technology, people has wittness how
powerful technology brought to us. Telephones, refrigarators, cars -- all inventions made
us feel free, convenient and comfortable, and son forth. There is no doubt that the
primary goal of technological advencement is to increase our leisure time.

Since Industrial Revelusion occured in the 18th century, our live changed much faster
than we could imagined and the rate which many things and ideas emerged are exponentially
rised up without control. As it is, Bell, developer of telephones, let people talked to
each other as if they were adjacent or not so far away; Edison, inventor of bulbs,
brightened and broadened our world without fearing the night, prevented lots of students
from reading in dark room and getting myopia; Wilbur Wright, dreaming flying in the sly
and creating the first airplane in the world, dramatically shortened the distance from
counrty to country, enabling the earth to become a "large village". Nowadays, we can not
live without air conditioners, calculators, even computers and the internet. Hence,
technology absolutely enrich our life.

Do technology really increase our leisure time? According to a report, there are over 70
percent of residence in Taipei being upset of lacking for leisure time, however,
technology shorten 40 percent of time we must spent in the past. Althougth technology
erase some unimportant steps and preserve some indespensible ones of acticities, is does
not seem people are receiving benefits from it; otherwise, they are usually nervous and
have low-level standard of living quality. It is beacuse we can not catch up with
technology -- its fast rate of development and shiftness, because we can not get
accustomed to it in very short time, because we are tired of being annoyed by all these
complicated things.

Moreover, people actually have more free time than usual, nevertheless, it is occupied by
working in order to earn lots of money, studying in order to get higher scores and enter
better unversities or colleges. Besides, technology also let us indifference with what
happens surrounding to us, such as internet, which make many adloscents are absorbed and
indulged in facinating on-line game or anything else. The government should put more
emphasize on these issue and cultivate our next generation to take advantage of
technology except being servile to it.

In one word, technology decreases and saves our time by many things we use in daily time.
We should cherish the leisure time, doing some meaningful activities insteading of
staying in nervous and busy lives for ever.
